The relationship between the new and the existing is one of the great topics in architecture.

To propose an architecture that, being of its time. knows how to insert and sew itself to a previous context is our ambition, just as the fact of the contemporary city.

In this way we find the strong point of the extension of the existing Breton Theater in the canvas of the facade, where the cornice lines of both the neighbouring buildings help support the smooth facade geometry.

This new volume intends to pick-up in an abstract way the ondulating moves of the Breton Theater and its vertically rhythmic frames, over a more smooth backdrop that relates it to the old Justice Palace.

The hold back lines of some of the programs volumes complete the possibiliy for the building to present itself on to the street as a brother of the existing ones while being larger in height.

A new and more direct relationship is established and in continuity with the exterior space of Breton de los Herreros Street and the interior through an atrium in the lower floor, vertically it visually extends towards the public spaces that inmerse themsleves in the new volume and that sew the different parts of the programme as "raumplan", where the magic of the theater goes beyond the mere space of the room. Public spaces of varying usage and height are chained one after the other providing a multi-usage of the space, interwoven by different circulations, by diagonal visuals and by the alternative framing of real and virtual reflections
