virtual round table about the museum of memory at the medellin book fair

this friday, september 24, a conversation about the museum of memory was held at the medellín book and culture festival, which celebrates its 15th edition. the architects felipe gonzález-pacheco, maría hurtado de mendoza and césar jiménez de tejada (winners of the international public architecture competition to choose the design of the museum) and laura montoya (technical director of the museum of the memory of colombia) met in a hybrid physical-virtual format in the linneo room of the botanical garden.

the architects talked about how they came to join forces to produce this project together after meeting at a summer architecture workshop in cartagena de indias. then they addressed the relationship of this space with memory, some aspects of the architectural design, references that inspired them, links between the building and the landscape and the light of bogotá, the visitor's experience and the places they most want to visit when the museum opens its doors.
